Thank you all for your input, it has helped me make sure my paper is not bias, but a true reflection of what the public thinks.

Drugs will never go away. Its a never ending battle. They are illegal now, and i bet 40% of America uses them. Even the white collar guys do them.....

In my opinion thats not as much of a black and white question as many previous answers make it out to be. The war on drugs has some strong parts, which are sadly outweighed by many pitfalls. The focus on small time dealers and users is a complete waste of time and resourses. If the government wants to stop large flows of hardcore drugs, they need to cut off the perverbial "head" of the "snake". In my opinion, I think the US should legalize weed, tax it, and use that money to fund a useful war on drugs that takes out the ringleaders instead of pawns in the game.

No and the politicians all know that. In fact, I think we as a nation have surrendered but will prosecute offenders for the sake of it. Basically, the war on drugs really was never more than a slogan.

None. In fact there will be a huge heroin glut due to the exploding historic production in Afghanistan.

No.

The "war on drugs" is a catastrophic failure and a colossal waste of money, time and resources. It blows my mind that we're still insisting on continuing it.
