Yes... The operative word here is "ever."

This universe is 'a' universe and as such was created for a given and divine purpose, as all universes are or were.

Once " the universe" has fulfilled the purpose for which it was created and intended, it will indeed "shake off" its life evolving potential, for cycles -- which the universe is -- have their terminus.

But Existence and Life Themselves "ever" proceed.

Deconstructing your question....you have to first admit the universe has life-evolving potential. Which is loaded when confronting the nature of "change over time", and our faith in evolutionary dating systems.
At the cellular level, humans are always changing to adapt to the way we damage our climate, and poison our dietary needs (this is something that has probably occured in you, in your lifetime)
So, to answer your question, until we really get irresponsible, I mean even more abusive of our bodies and envoirment, we have a pretty good shot at survival.
This is, taken in faith, we're the only planet with life in the universe.....at least that we know of

I think not. The laws of physics and thermodynamics do not predict the emergence of complexity, beauty, life, and me. So I think there is a creative tendency (whose nature remains to be described) that you refer to as "life evolving potential." (Some people might identify this with God!)

In any case, I think this is intrinsic to the Universe, indeed might be a precursor, and cause...

Sure hope not. Some current theories state that one day the universe will cool off and all the stars will burn out lucky for us that's many billions of years away.

Life/energy cannot be shaken off! That's a little like saying can I do away with the energy that gives us electricity?...it is alive..."forever".

It is this animated energy that keeps the show going and some say, "It's for our entertainment!"

Ugh...why would it want to? To cease evolving is to either settle into a static unchanging state, or to devolve into something lesser. Either way, not appealing choices!
