Get a new stock. Theres no way short of welding that will give a strong enough join on the broken piece. Even that mightn't work too well as the weld would have to be ground right back to allow the stock to slide freely.

You can use JB Weld epoxy. It is a two part mix and is extremely tough and strong. I've used it on small metal parts where welding wasn't feasible

5 minute epoxy, welds anything to anything. Can be bought at any hardware store!

Try brazing it. You will need an oxy acetalyne torch and brazing rod. Maybe you should just see if your auto mechanic will do it for a six pack.
