Patton knew Political correctness had no place in a war. If Patton were fighting the war in Iraq It would be over and Iran we be asking what can we do to help. but the civilian casualties would be high and the collateral damage would be higher, there is no such thing as a compassionate war, which is what we are trying to get our military to fight, We should honor the wishes of the terrorist and make them all martyrs and any Country that stood in our way should also be considered the enemy and suffer the same consequences, We did not attack the middle east or raise our children to hate Muslims, they cheered in the streets when the twin towers fell, they celebrated our suffering, for one reason, because we do not worship their God. But like Patton I also believe we can change their way of thinking only through total destruction. I know this sounds extreme, but we are dealing with extremest.

Actually Rommel really implemented the tank strategies, Patton went one step further and studied and modified Rommel's work and ultimately used it against him. Smart man. Those were different days my friend. Days when people didn't always have to worry about approval ratings and the whinings of bleeding hearts. People like Patton are almost a dead breed.

Your observations about General Patton are probably correct, and his mistrust of the Soviets certainly proved well founded. However, Patton was a pure general rather than a diplomat. The conclusion of the movie "Patton" and "The Last Days of Patton" are good portrayals of this. He was a man for an era of great power wars, not the world of today where threats come from multiple rogue states or stateless sources like international terrorism and invading all of our enemies is simply not practical. In the case of Iran, a military strike is particularly dangerous and unlikely to be effective at destroying their nuclear facilities. Patton was a great man for his times, but he would be out of place in the modern world.

In the beginning of the Iraq war, the areas that they where having problems with he would have bombed them right into submission. As for Iran and Chavez, you wouldn't hear a peep out of them

He would have used Colin Powell's Doctrine and invade Iraq with overwhelming force instead of trying to fight a politically correct war against religious extremists

First, he would tell all the whiners to shut up or ship out. Next, he would launch attacks, just as Bush has done in Iraq against the terrorists.

Well, he wouldn't be waving a white flag like Pelosi and Reid are. I would like to see him slap them.
