I can't think of any laws I would change right away. I would make sure that the current laws were more strictly enforced. Why create new laws, when most are already on the books and ignored?

However, I would make the appeal process shorter for those people on death row. They should not be able to sit there for 20+ years milking the system. If you are found guilty in District, State Supreme and US supreme court, you are done. Three times is it!

If I couldn't legalize cannabis, I would make expensive wine and whiskey illegal...not the regular stuff, gut rot would still be legal for us normal folks. Cigars and pipes would be illegal but I would keep cigarettes legal... Anyone in possession of any of these substances would face the same punishment as an equal amount of crack cocaine.

The death penalty would be made illegal. Wait...murder already is illegal...

Police shooting people (i.e. Amadou Diallo) more than 40 times would be put in jail for murder. Any police officer who didn't obey the law would face the same jail time and/or fine that any citizen faces. This would include traffic violations and repeatedly shooting an innocent man because he's black or white or whatever.

I wouldnt create any new laws and i'd pout to an open vote all laws that are currently on the books.

The consequence? We might actually have a government of the people, by the people, and for the people...

instead of one by the people who can raise the most money to get elected...

I'd do a lot more decriminalizing than criminalizing. The tax code would be a 4-page pamphlet, for instance.

Consequences would be near-anarchy.
