Welfare is a horrible thing
I wouldn't mind it IF
they made people work 40 hours a week for it
picking up trash on the side of the road
mopping the human services floors or floors at hospitals
make them do some charity or volunteer work
give them a time limit to find work or another source of income 3-6 months MAX
only pay them half of what minimum wage is
(to encourage them to find work)
medical only to minors and pregnant woman
or if they do not have a GED or Diploma
they MUST complete the course to get it... as in they must go to classes and work the time they are not in class for the human services office
They need to daily get online at the jobs and family services and apply for jobs after they show up to work off the money they are receiving...
part of the day needs to be job hunting and studying to be a good employee and the other half labor
make it seem more of a hindrance
then maybe people would stop and think i might as well find a job cuz i can't live of public assistance....
Welfare should NOT at all be a income it should only be TEMPORARY HELP!
and if they do not find a job within the 3-6 months sorry about their luck!!
medical should be their for children to all eligible children though
If the family doesnt have a car public servace vehicles should pick them up and drop them off to see that they have a ride....

Welfare is not wrong... but when people abuse it and too lazy to work.. it is wrong.. i see alot of people who dont need to be on it... and others who do need it and cant get on it.. and some people keep having kids when they cant afford them. And they use welfare as a crutch....

I definitely think people who really need welfare are too proud to get it. That is because the people that are on it abuse it and we don't want to be categorized with them. I know I don't. Where I live I see welfare abused everyday by young able bodies that can go to work but won't for whatever reason.

All I know is what I see and hear. I am a cna and that puts me in a low incom group. I hear all about how they dont report the father liveing in the home. they have big bbq;s with the stamps they tell the boss's that they cant work over these hour because it will take away from their stamps and cash. they do brag about how much money they really do have. most of them work under the table. They brag about the new i phone or tablet they get. they most of them have nice cars. Not all of them are bad but 90 percent just use it to be lazy. I have a family member who is a family of 9 who are all on aid when they are capible of working. 2 of my neices have 2 to 3 children apeice, the dad is living ther but they dont report them doing so. the fathers of the children say, I wont have the mother of my children working. You should stay home with your children only if your other can afford the whole family. I have a nefew who is 28, never has worked, he gained too much weight so he gets disability for being fat. all this fat *** does is sit on his *** all day and smoke pot and munch out on the free food the government gives him. my sister who is42 has never worked. got welfare for the kids till they all turned18, than she played the crazy card. now she gets disability. YEAH, I KNOW FIRST HAND ABOUT AID BECAUSE I HAVE A LOW PAYING JOB AND HAVING THAT HAS EXPOSED ME TO A BUNCH OF GOVERNMENT SPONGES. OBOMA NEEDS TO GO. HE IS INABLEING AMERICA. If you cant feed them, dont breed them. If you find yourself looseing a job or your spouse (Get on help--3 months and than get back off.) America is going broke because of our President--impeach him!!!!!.

Yes
It should be handled by private charity. Let us then see the liberal generosity
I do not believe in something for nothing. You want welfare, you have to earn it. There are plenty of jobs that can be filled.
There are a few of the thousands on welfare that actually need it.

I think it is appropriate that the state provide limited assistance to someone "down on their luck". But being down on your luck is only a temporary thing. After a certain period of time (6 to 12 months), the pot goes dry and you should not be able to apply for or receive welfare for 2 years.
Also, anyone receiving government assistance should not have the right to vote while they are receiving or for 2 years after they are off assistance. If I am buying lunch and you are eating for free, you don't get to pick where we eat....
Just my thoughts...

There will always be a small segment of society that will need help. Unfortunately the system we have needs to be revamped. We need to put people to work and quit force-feeding them. It's called tough love. Too many people take advantage of the system and make no attempts to better themselves.

We need to have welfare, it needs to be adjusted in some cases, but without it so many more problems will start. How can we not make arrangements for little kids to eat?
The Presidency has been around for 218 years and we can't get that right either:(

I firmly beleive there should be a limit to the time anybody can be on welfare, it's dehumanizing and moraly corupting. same for politics there should be a limit to the time anybody is alowed to stay in office, can you say Ted Kennedy, Robert Bird, Strom Thurman and any klingon that wont leave washington DC
