In theory the engine coolant holder is where any excess pressure from the radiator is bled to. When the pressure in the radiator goes down, the vacuum valve in the radiator cap allows the cooled liquid to return. If you have a slightly higher concentration of antifreeze in the radiator than you need it would be okay to put water in the coolant holder otherwise I recommend putting coolant.

yes, but not while your engine is hot. You might crack the block unless it is running. It is better to use half water and half coolant though.

you can fill it to the full cold line if the engine is cold and if the engine is warmed up fill it to the full hot line, best to use a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze.

i own a shop and yes you can but it is better to at least add it half and half if you can,but since its hot weather it wont hurt it as long as it has enough antifreeze in it to keep it from running hot, strait water will boil a lot faster, and will make it run hotter, once in a while, good luck hope this helps.

You can. Car will run just fine.... but there will soon be corrosion in the engine and it's life will be very much shortened.
