I believe it will, but not for a long time yet to come. However, it will not come through power of arms, treaties, victory or battles. It will come through patience, acceptance, understanding and respect of others.
I live a peaceful life. When I have an issue with someone I either work it out, or choose not to be around that person. Some people are better at having peace in their lives, some people are worse.
I feel that the more people who choose a peaceful existence for themselves worldwide the closer we will get to world peace. It must come from the ground up, not the government down.
It does not matter if our governments have peaceful relations nor if they do a lot in trade. If I don't like you and your family for some reason, there will always be that slippery slope to fighting.
Everyone doesn't have to like everyone for peace to be achieved. However, the greater majority must choose to live peacefully even with those they do not like.
Its a long way off.

Because of our intolerance. We all are guilty of it, either by commiting it or by letting intolerance go unchallenged. Being tolerant does not mean rubber stamp every idea as valid, but rather debate the idea and try to convince other people of the error of their ways and yes, been convinced by somebody else that your idea is the one that is not the right one. We as humans look at things from our own point of view and do not want to change our minds, since it is viewed as a sign of weakness when you change your mind, in politics is called flip-flopping. I don't know when we lose the ability to accept other ideas other than ours of being better. Must be in the teen years, I suppose, when everything that our parents tell us is viewed with suspicion and we think that they do not know anything without realizing that they know more than us. It took me a while to realize that, but I appreciate that now. I have told my parents that, that they were right and I was wrong and if only I have listened a bit more I could have suffered less. But very few people ever do that. Since our world is now divided into two camps, each other eyeing the other side with suspicion and not willing to talk, but rather to turn a deaf ear and proceed as our side is the right one. Abraham Lincoln said it best: "In this Civil War, both sides claim that God is on their side, it might be that God is on one side or the other, or neither side, but certainly, God cannot be for both sides at the same time". We do not have thinkers of that caliber in our present world, everything now is reduced to the least common denominator, which is we are right, they are wrong and do not stop for a second to hear each other at all. That is what is wrong with the world today. Unfortunately, everything now has to fit into a sound bite, so thinking deeply about issues is not newsworthy anymore.

Peace is inbetween war, learn to enjoy it then. Their will always have to be the people willing to fight the people who think attacking and bringing violence to another person/people is the right thing. An offensive nation is a bad nation, because if you are attacking someone who did not threaten you or endanger you, you are causing mindless violence. This is when you consider your options, and when you decide that even though war is a bad choice, if all other choices are worse, you need to become offensively defensive. In order to defend against the offensive, you must be ready to fight after all other negotiations have failed. So, if all offensive nations would stop threatening people of other nations, peace would be had at a national level. That is when you go to help other nation's people, who may be dwindling in fear of the violence of their leaders, gain their defensive. That is what is so funny in Iraq. Not only are we there to stop the threat of terrorists to America itself, we are there helping those people. A strong man fights for himself, a stronger man fights for others.

Yes, world peace will come, but only when there's only one person left on the entire planet! You know people, as long as there's two of them, they'll fight about something.
Hopefully, that last guy will get eaten by a f*cking bear or something and then we can have a waste free environment too!

How many people, seeing someone drowning, wouldn't row their boat over and pull them out without first asking their religion, political affiliation, or nationality? Most of the hateful talk is from anxiety and poorly based opinion. When it gets to the basics, I don't believe there is really all that much hate in the world among the average people of any country.

Peace has come to this world in the form of Jesus Christ. But the world doesnt accept peace, or God for that matter. They are too busy with their own selfish agendas with require taking away your rights and money to do it.

Good question, overall ALL common people of all nations want just a few things. Peace, common respect of their heritage and to be left alone.
So why all the hate and wars?
There is an easy but painful answer. There are a few people on this earth that consider themselves better than everyone else. They consider themselves destined to rule over everyone else.
They desire and acquire POWER. The rest of us common folks don't..so the rich and powerful fight it out. Being rich and powerful of course means that their lives are more important than ours, so they use their power to FORCE us to fight their wars.
Someday, all the common folks of the world will get tired of this 'lets hope' and put a final and lasting end to powerful people abusing the rest of us.

World Peace was never meant to be while good/evil coexist on Earth. When Armageddon happens and Jesus comes back to reign and the good people are in Heaven and the evil ones are in Hell then yes there will be world peace.

no world peace will never happen.
With that being said, just live your life and try to leave the world a better place than it was when you entered it.

Honestly, that is such a good question, but personally i think it is because people are wrapped up in their lives too much and dont really want to reach out to those in need. But also there are just some messed up people. Hopefully one day there can be peace.
