There are several freshwater eels. It would help if you could describe it a bit more than saying it looks like a Moray Eel. A very popular freshwater eel is a Fire Eel. If that is what you have you can follow the link below or do a search for it.

Yes the eels they sell as freshwater morays are indeed moray eels and aren't actually freshwater they can go from fresh to full salt and in my experience won't fair well in a full fresh tank - usually a brackish tank would do the trick. They get quite large.

If you're interested in FW eels there are a few true FW species that might be more suited to your needs. Tiretracks, Peacocks and Fire eels are a few.
