my 95 wrangleer has gushing fluid out near the front end. Looks like antifreeze, I was told it was a h2o pump. How do I know if it really is?

You can either start the vehicle up and let it warm up or go to a shop to get it pressure tested. You can check it yourself if the leak is visible in your driveway or wherever you live. Open the hood and look where the belt is, locate the fan, that is where your water pump is, usually it will leak out the bottom, there is a small hole called a weep hole that it has a tendency to leak from. This is not too terrible of a job to try to do yourself if you are half mechanically inclined, i can post step by step directions if you need it. Good luck I hope this helps.

Take it to a garage and get a second opinion. I haven't seen it and I'd say that it is the coolant pump.
