I recently planted sod in my backyard and it took to the ground pretty well but then it started to die in spots. Now it is rapidly dying in big patches. Is there anything I can do to bring it back to life? It looks like it is burned and it feels like hay. The fertilizer I used is made for newly planted sod and it is a No-Burn Formula. I don't know what to do. Any help?

when you plant new sod before you put it down the ground under it must be loosened up so the roots can take hold, it's to late for that now and even though the fetilizer says no burn formula it can still burn your grass, you now have to saturate it with water every night before dark and you will see instant results

It's probably a good idea to water a new frequently to establish deep root growth. The grass may be dormant and not yet dead, so try watering fairly heavily. Also, I've been told that there really isn't such thing as no-burn fertilizer, so it's still wise to be careful not to apply too much.

Water it. Best to do in the morning so evaporation will keep it cool in the heat of the day.
