I recommend the over the top antics and anthems of Muse. Sure, it's not really heavy metal, but some of their songs can be pretty loud and wicked awesome... crazy guitar solos and just full scale explosive songs that sound like blowing up dark, bat infested castles with intergalactic starships. Yeah, its that crazy. Good tracks to look up:
stockholm syndrome, assassin, hysteria, bliss, muscle museum, plug in baby, butterflies and hurricanes, time is running out, citizen erased, and of course, knights of cydonia. Look up the live performances on youtube. Very cool stuff.

If you like Cradle of Filth.. You might like Dimmu Borgir.
You should definitely try Iron Maiden. Not only are they incredible, but they are an influence of CoF.
Check out Dragonforce, Faith No More, Dream Theater
You may like Dope.
And don't forget the your classics.. Metallica, Megadeth, Ozzy/Black Sabbath
