500 HP can be attained with a 350...it's just a matter of how much you're willing to spend building the motor with the right parts and starting with a hi-perf 4 bolt main engine and good heads. Check your local parts store or
Chev dealer for publications regarding building a high horsepower motor and read what you can on the subject. One thing is, with a motor like that, fuel economy and driveability are not going to be very good.....there's some tradeoff's you'll have to make. That's why NOS is so popular...you can have a decent driving engine with fairly good fuel economy and you hit a switch and you've got an extra 150 horsepower without breaking the bank.

Edelbrock offers several set ups with cams, heads, and carbs and exhaust systems to get to your goal. So does gmpartssupply.com. Also ever consider a rearend gear change for red lite to red lite. Or if ya want top end? Go 4:56 or 5:13 for the short hop. Go 2:73 for unlimited top end( slow to start out but on the long haul , No top end!!!! That is the rearend . the tranny gears can be changed also for what ya want
