getting good spark getting gas but will not run why is it blowing oil out the carb and black smoke and when you pull to start it it jerks back really hard almost pulling your arm out of the socket

so whats the problem no the oil level is fine and its never been tipped on its side

The engine has sheared the flywheel key and is out of time. Remove the flywheel and replace the key and all will be fine again. Check your oil level. If it is overfull, drain and refill it.

you have too much oil in the mower
flip over the mower and drain out the oil
remove the plug and yank on the handle and sling out the oil
put in fresf gas and oil do not OVERFILL todays mowers take only 1/2 of a bottle or less fill it to the line as the manufacturer says or put in only 1 pint of oil if you put in a quart of oil you done messed up
just drain it down and start over.

Did you turn the mower over on it side?? If so let it set remove plug clean or replace, Now check oil make sure it not over the line on the dip stick, Clean filter should be OK. good luck

remove the plug and pull it a few times.gap the plug and replace. pour a small amount of gas into the carb and start it. good luck.

Gas leaked in to the crank case oil and the oil level is too high.
