engine runs fine until the blades are dropped, it kills the engine completely. The under carriage is clean of any obstuction and blades move. I don't see any debris on the top side either.

If the blades are free of debris have you checked the belt to make sure it is on all the pulleys? Does it bogg the engine down as you try to engage the blades or does the motor just die? The reason I ask is because there is a switch that is connected to the seat. With the deck engaged you have to stay in the seat.. Switch might be bad. If it boggs the engine like it has a load on it there is something preventing the belt from turning.

Is grass high, are you trying to cut too low? Dropp the deck down while on the driveway and see what it does. With the Engine off, check the blades if you can turn with ur hands, see how much drag each 1 has. You may have a bearing locking up. Also, make sure throttle is all the way and no choking.
