I'm a secular liberal and a nonbeliever. I cannot stand christian fundamentalists in America, much less muslim terrorists.
I just point this out because some cons claim liberals hate America and support terrorists. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Gregory,
The terrorists are right-wingers. Read about the origin of the term right-wing. The original right-wing of the French Assembly stood for the monarchy, aristocracy, fuedalism, traditionalism, and the power of the clergy.

Gregory,
Who defends the right of neo-nazi and klan organizations to hate?
The ACLU defends their freedom of speech. They defend this right even when it is unpopular.

Traditional values are anything but backward, they are the model of proper conduct for humanity.
Religion was meant to be in govt because the people are religious. Remember that whole representation thing?
How is interfering with religious freedom and expression a good thing?
Im not going to waste anymore time on these, they are very absurd comparisons. The bottom line is Islam is not Christian. Jesus never told us to run theocracies, nor do we try to do so. Those of us who are Christian dont believe hating their fellow man no matter who they are, nor directly enforcing Gods law.
Islamicists on the other hand have very little regard for human life, and believe that violence and oppression are the primary means to Islams ends.

The republicans are reaping what they have sown, discord in their own party. The religious fundamentalists have gotten too much power in the party and the "conservatives" (whoever the hell they are) have lost their grip. How many answers do you now see, god bless our troops, our President, and America? If you feel that way, great, celebrate it and pray about it in church on Sunday, not in school, not in congress and certainly not at airports facing east. Pat Robertson and his Regent University are more of a danger to America than any terrorists could ever be. You are right on the money with your observations. I'm sure that bit of truth will anger more than a few people who read your question.

Yes. I do understand that these are some of their positions.
Do you not understand that they want you dead and it is us Christian Fundamentalist Conservatives that are fighting for your right and everyone's right to live. What is your purpose in making these statements?
I dont see the need in sex on TV, gun control, women walking around practically naked, and separation of Church and State(Which, by the way is not found in the Constitution or any other historical document. But this is a whole other arguement.).
Liberals have ruined this country and are opening the way for the terrorists to get in and destroy our way of life.
And we don't hate everyone, we Christians are taught to love one another, but if we seem pushy with our Gospel it is because we are commanded to tell everyone about it but not by shoving it down their throats.

Yes! There is nothing more hateful to a religious fanatic than another religious fanatic of an opposed faith.
What I don't understand is why liberals don't seem less sympathetic towards the right-wing religious fundamentalist Muslims (who aren't all fundamentalists, of course), instead focusing thier energies on defeating the right-wing religious fundamentalist Republican party (who also aren't all fundamentalists). Too hard to tell apart?

Actually, the terrorists are not "right wingers." Neither are Christian fundamentalists in America who seek to impose their moral code on others.
A real right winger, like myself, does not seek to impose himself on others. A real right winger, like myself, believes that government should do practically nothing. It's only role is to protect my life and liberties from infringement by others, foreign and domestic.
By the way....you, and everyone else, has a right to hate. Hate is not a crime. Anyone can speak up for someone's right to love, do you have the gonads to speak up for a person's right to hate? If you do not have the gonads to speak up for a person's right to hate, then you are not a true lover of liberty, for if the only liberties you are willing to defend are the ones you agree with, then you are not willing to defend any REAL liberties.

Of course the conservatives do not understand it. They have no capacity for self-examination and/or philosophical comparison. They're stuck on "Hate then Kill" speed. To the ignorant partisan hack who posted that "several environmental groups" have been responsible for murder, you are a liar. And to try to paint "liberal groups" as terrorist is insane. We're the pacifists, remember? We're the ones pushing diplomacy - your breed is the one with a hard-on over the nuclear bomb. You're just pis$sed off that this question is dead on the mark.

The political spectrum is a circle. Extremists (Islamofascists, Communists) meet on the dark side. Hitler & Stalin had a lot more in common than either would have ever admitted.
