I'm always barefoot at work, at my current job of about nine years, my previous job, temp jobs in winter (tourism/season job now), and the job interviews.

I am a student at the moment. But I have worked in offices before.
Removing shoes at work would be very comfortable, but I have never done that for fear of being considered unprofessional.

I use to work in a shop-plastics and we were not allowed to take off our shoes - safety reasons of course.

My first job yes, but that was because that job required me to wear dress shoes and after the 6 hour mark I had to kick them off. But my current job, no because I get to wear tennies.

as a heavy equipment operator, that would be frowned upon, i am pretty sure! once, we had to work on a saturday, and i had to pick up my g/f from work before i left, so i just threw on a pair of running shoes, forgot i had them on, and went to work wearing them, instead of steel-toed boots, which are required! i had a couple of co-workers notice this, who said, are you crazy? boss is gonna send you home, if he sees those shoes! they were so cool, they stood in front of me, during our morning meeting, so the boss couldnt see! great people to work with, huh?
