Yes, but there are limits to how much money you can make. You can get details on their site ...

Hello Kat!
Good question! I'm on disability and the Social Security office tells me I can earn an extra $860 per month! The customer service rep on the phone said "Why don't you just do something for cash?" I'm not well enough, but I did think that was an interesting comment from a government phone representative! I'd just go over to the Social Security office and ask them! They are usually better to talk to in person than on the phone! Who knows, they may even help you get your business up and running! Keep a log of the person's name of who tells you the information, and when they are telling you this! They are nothing to be afraid of! Good luck!

I am on social security and want to start a business. I think we are all entitled to achieve our dreams weather we are on disability or not. I am looking at all possibilities that can help. This is all new to me. Do not set any limits for yourself.

Well, you could start a business, but there are income limits to receive SSI. So if the business is successful, the SSI benefits would stop.
