I'm outside a lot and like the dogs to walk with me around outside .They follow me everywhere. They like to follow the horses on rides in the woods. Play catch and just a good ,natured rowdy bunch. Inside I have my two friendly cats.Who are middle age princesses who both think that they where the queen and the other is only the princess. They are good company also.So it is just a matter of personnel choice . I like both.As far as pigs, we keep ours in a pen and they are butchered and put in the freezer.

I always say that when someone is looking for a pet take the time to see which would be best in your enviroment. Like a dog needs to go outside off and on and needs more exercise than a cat, but a cat has a litter box that needs cleaned and they like to relax more than dogs. So look at your daily routine and then decide.
As far as a pig goes I had a pet pig as my uncle had a farm and this pig when born was the runt, not getting enough to eat and the mom kept pushing it away, so my dad left me take it home and raise it. Yes it did try chewing things up like toilet paper, the walls and about everything else but I treated it like a dog and my father help me build a outside pen for when I wasn't home, I took it almost every where and as it got older it settle down but I knew it needed to be with other pigs so I had my uncle take it back to the ranch. Pigs are great but they are more work than a dog or cat. I know you didn't want a pig but I had to answer.

No. Pigs are very challenging pets and not for everyone. They get very large - even pot bellied pigs get over 100 lbs. and often over 200 lbs. They eat a lot. Very few vets treat them - a friend of ours is an equine vet and he is the only vet in our county that treats them. Many municipalities ban them as livestock. They root (both inside and outside) and can be destructive.
I have a friend that does pig rescue and rarely does she find anyone who wants to adopt a full-grown pig. Most of the pigs in her care will remain with her till they die.
Cats and dogs fit into most people's lives much better than pigs, which is why they are so prevalent as pets.

That wasn't one of the options! :) Anyways, you can't have a pig in town (in most states). I would probably choose a cat, because they are more of a lap animal, unless you get a small dog. Even so, cats like to laze around in your lap more than a dog would. If you are wanting something that doesn't laze around with you, I'd probably go with a dog, because cats are definately lazy. Even though my friends cats chases beer bottle lids and pipe cleaners. It's really very cute!

Nope... our 2 domicile cats are previous and stay interior the main mattress room and adjacent place of work. dogs (4) are working ranch dogs and are purely allowed interior the domicile during the coldest of nights. the three barn cats do no longer take ANY guff from the dogs !!

Nope, pigs are very high maintenance creatures, i'd still prefer a cat. Cat's are easier.
