His religion is not the reason one should oppose him. I remember in 1960 there was supposed to be a hotline straight to the Vatican. Of course that didn't happen. JFK was a devout Catholic but he didn't clear everything with the Pope before doing anything. I doubt Romney would allow his religion to get in the way of his secular job. Anyone who opposes or votes for any candidate based on only one issue is an idiot. I currently don't plan on voting for Romney but that could change by the time of the general election next year if he gets his party's nomination and the Democratic candidate proves to be a real dud.

I don't care about a candidates religion or lack of religion. But, I would not vote for him, because he supports income tax reform, and I believe that income tax needs to be abolished and replaced with the fair tax, rather than merely reforming the corrupt system that already exists. If he changed his stance on that issue, and if I agree with him on enough other issues that I consider important, and if he could convince me, through his voting record, as well as, through the things he says and writes, that he is not just another Illuminati puppet, then I would vote for him, regardless of race, gender, religion, or political party.

Romney is so practiced and polished it is scary. He will not get my vote. Obama has absolutely no chance of my vote due to not only his Muslim background, Obama belongs to a black separatist Church. He may well drag those beliefs with him to the White House also.
I am tired of religious zealotry being the norm in politicians.

I like Mormons, they are lovely honest people. I would not vote for Mitt, it would take his first term to establish any respect from world leaders and I question his ability to handle huge problems. He has changed his positions many times, I am not convinced he could do the job.

I am a Latter-Day Saint (the correct name for Mormons) I would not be worried about a Mormon President any more than the country was worried about having a Catholic president.

I would not base my decision on whether or not to vote for him soley on his religion.
He has good family values, which to me are important.
It is too early for me to decide on whom I am voting for.He is one I'm looking at,along with a few others.

Good for you. You should vote based on what that person represents other than his/her religious affiliation. My vote will go to someone who believes but whether that person is Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, etc., it doesn't matter.

I do not care about him being mormon. I am a pious Christian and he is a follower of the same religion, just a different denomination.

I wasn't interested in him, but someone above said

"He backs mandatory medical insurance in his state."

If this is true, I like him quite a bit more. It is time the US catch up with all other industrialized nations on health care.
