try using old tin on the inside, for example street signs for door panels, or floord boards. Im using a penzoil gear lube can for my trans tunel, mostly cause it will fit and it says penzoil. Or bamboo for a tiki theme. Flat black body with a high gloss red metal flake paint [large flakes]. White wall tires, paint them on if you have to. go to antique stores and see what you find, or flea markets. Whatch peoples garbage on the side of the road, one mans trash is anothers treasure. Part of the fun is searching out the parts, and the stories that come with them. good luck. email me some pics, and I will send you some of my '26 hupmobile roadster p-up, to pushrod2176@yahoo.com
By the way, in regards to not knowing what a rat rod is and having been into cars for so long, that just makes me laugh. They are some of the most interesting, creative cars you will ever see. You should do a search and find out for your self.

You'll have to give us more information to go on. This question is toooooo vague. I have had classic cars for over 30 years and have no idea what a rat rod is...
