Upper Deck Series 1 or First Edition Boxes?

Which is a better box buy? I mean, First Edition boxes come
with more cards, and contain the same single cards, but
would it be more worthwhile to have series 1 instead of
first edition, and get different special cards? I'm new to baseball
card collecting.

It would also be a good idea to become acquainted with a card dealer in your area, so you can find out from a professional.
