He was the best punter in the draft, probably the best in the past 10 years. Last year the Steelers had trouble with field position and Mike Tomlin is taking the first step in solving that problem. Plus, they had 9 draft picks so giving up two didn't hurt them a bit. They solved their glaring need for a LB in the first 2 rounds. Tomlin was probably thinking if he got a punter that could boot the ball 60+ yards, that would give the defense the chance to either force their opponent to punt and get good field position or force a turnover and maybe score. Giving Roethlisberger a short field is his goal and Sepulveda has the ability to make it happen.

The Steelers drafted a punter because they need one. Last year the Steelers punter, Chris Gardocki, was ranked number 30 in the league in punting average with 41.3 per punt. He had by far the least punts inside the 20 with only 11. Its time for a change for the Steelers punting, so I agree with there decision to draft Daniel Sepulveda who is by far the best kicker in the draft. For Daniels Senior year he had a 46.5 avg yards per punt. If he would do this in the NFL he would rank third.

The punter is ridiculous from what I've heard. He may even be able to make some key tackles on special teams. Sixth round picks usually just add depth, not starter (for the most part don't shout at me examples of 6th rounders that were great).

Because there punter jeff reed is getting old and they wanted somebody new to refresh the punter position plus he is a great left-footed punter one of the best available in college so i think he will develop into a great punter in the steelers organization

He is a good punter but he could have fallen to where they were picking... Honstely this was not a smart move but maybe he will have a game saving punt... has there ever been a game saving punt?

Because he is good and Chris Gardocki is old. Also, the Steelers had more picks than they wanted, so they tried to unload them.

Probably because they needed a punter and a good one was available, and they had extra picks to work with.
