Definitely not. The mom's gamete, the egg, would have to carry a Y chromosome, and that in the first place is not possible, as fertile women are XX only. Futhermore, some of the only truly important information on the Y chromosome is a gene known as SRY -- it is responsible for starting male development. Having two would probably cause increased testosterone levels, which would lead to over-masculine characteristics, but this situation doesn't happen in the first place. However, the X chromosome is vital to development for both males and females, and at least one copy is needed for a human to develop. If a developing organism's genome is messed up enough that it cannot be compensated for, it will spontaneously abort -- this is what would happen in the case of a YY human. You're right, your friend is wrong!

Missing an X chromosome is lethal and it would therefore be impossible for a person to have a YY chromosome. So yes it is possible for a human to have a YY chromosome, but that person would be dead as soon as they are born.
Hope I helped

No. I think its impossible. Because only ur dad (male) has a Y chromosome, women have XX. Therefore it doesn't seem likely.

You can be XYY, or XXYY, or even X with no Y, but you need at least one X. YY is lethal, probably well before you are born.

At least one X has to be present for the oganism to develop.
XO - Turner syndrome, female
YO - lethal
XYY- "supermale". Studies indicate that individuals with this rare
disorder may be prone to violence. Doubt if it has anything
to do with the size of anything.
