It means that the content is available in XML markup language for a webfeed insertion into your own site. This is frequently found in news providers, stock providers and data providers that are regularly updated.

Usually you can click on the block to get the code to insert the feed into your own website. For example, if you clicked a feed from, say, CNN on the RSS box, it would likely take you to a popup with code to insert the CNN data FEED into your website, and thus, your website would get the updated CNN feed as it is updated.

The initials can stand for a few different things, so best not to bother with them.

In short, RSS is a system for you to subscribe to something without giving them any information. The RSS box is them giving you the link to their feed. You copy this link and paste it into your RSS reader (Thunderbird, RSSOwl, Google Reader) and then your reader will download all the new articles/ media/ whatever that is posted on this feed.

You will often see these on blogs and podcasts, and with it will get alerted right away when something new is posted.

am i able to ask you a severe question? might you stand on a highway nook in long island and attempt to argue good judgment with a loopy homeless guy or woman? in simple terms because of the fact they do no longer smell as undesirable or dress extra helpful would not make it alright to argue good judgment with a nut interest!
