Never.
Your Altima has a timing chain which is a lifetime part that never has to be serviced or replaced. Only vehicles equipped with timing belts require regular replacement.

Probably never. Belts need replacing ,so they don't break, but chains only elongate as they get mileage on them. Not enough to notice- at least on Toyota 22REC.
My Toyota 22REC has a chain and was only replaced at 280,000 miles because the plastic chain guides broke and the chain would slap the housing because it lost it's tension. Since it needed new guides I put a new chain on.
Two Toyota dealers said they don't replace chains, because the engine will wear out before the chain.
Nissan builds just as reliable engines, but I'd ask several Nissan dealers and some independent garages that work on Altima's what they suggest, if ever.

Your car has the KA24DE engine which has the camshafts driven by a timing chain and not a belt. Like others have stated you shouldn't need to replace the belt for the life of the car. If you notice a considerable amount of noise from the chain then you should look into replacing it, the guides and the tensioner. Until then, use good oil and change it often. The car will take care of you if you take care of it.

Dont listen to that idiot. They do break, ask the dealer. He is a tire tech and knows nothing more than a gs at a shop. What a retard.

Well the reomended time is 60,000 miles so do it now and its a belt not a chain also when you do it change the tensioner and the water pump since its going be accessable at that time and the timing belt runns all that as well.

Before it brakes. Usually around 90,000 miles. Change it before it is too late.
