His new Foreign Minister designate is a Socialist that takes a very dim view of the warmongering instincts of Bushco... LOL

Not such a friend any longer I suppose after your glee here last week.

"Bernard Kouchner is a former Socialist health minister who co-founded the relief agency "Medecins Sans Frontieres," and it was not immediately clear if he would accept the proposal.

His appointment would represent a major surprise and could have a profound consequence on France's foreign policy."

I seriously doubt any French leader would be a friend of Bush, or willingly accede to his policies. After all the French, and their politicians, are generally intellectual, worldly, peaceful, and master diplomats. These traits are entirely absent in the Bush administration.

For any French leader to get along with this administration there would have to be a regime change in France, where this administration installed its own puppet government in France. Unfortunately, as puppet governments go, as attested to in Cuba, Central America, Afghanistan, and Iraq, the U.S. isn’t very good at setting them up, and more than likely will create an enemy than an ally. Sometimes when I look at the blatant incompetence and brazen immorality of our politicians it makes me ashamed to be called a citizen of the United States.

Luckily, I can always look to a few good American men and women, the ordinary folks who have extraordinary ideas about where we should be headed, and my faith in this country is restored.

Considering the alternative, I'm very happy.

After all you'll get the foreign minister.
I live inside the EU and Sarcosy at least can think!

BTW- the President in France does not nominate the ministers. The prime minister does that, and the party running the parliament.

Sarkozy is a socialist like the rest of the Europeans and they will not help us in Iraq either....they just want to be on the safe side...

Only a few were fooled. Most of us knew better.

How are things in the U.K.? Do you worry about your own country as much as you do ours?
