In Labor & Delivery, it means the obvious.
In medication administration, it generally means giving a drug intravenously that doesn't need to be "hung" (as in an IV bag, and dripped in slowly, or infused via a pump) but can be slowly "pushed" into the vein with a syringe. Many emergency meds are given this way; also things which are not too viscous or caustic to the vein (some IV antibiotics, for example.)

Hi, It's a term we use to say that at our first overview everything seems ok. It's actually surprising how accurate that finding is. ie. if the neurolgical examination is "grossly normal" after a brief history and examination, it's rare to find significant pathology. Hope that helps, Dr.RF

you mean like an iv push? thats when you hook the meds up to an iv pump and let the pump push it through the body.
