I have a 19 year old son that lives with me that has major anger and aggression problems. He lived with his father who is an alcoholic for a long time. We are divorced. Everyone keeps telling me to kick this kid out. He has a job but no car.. and no way to get to work but me. He is verbally abusive to me . Im at the END of my rope. My kids have gotten me kicked out of my home because of their behavior. This kid has no where to go. I feel responsible. But yet IM angry too. Im afraid if I kick him out he will commit suicide. I cant call the cops when he is aggressive as that is what got me kicked out of my home . The neighbors were upset with all the police calls. I work hard.. Im studying for a real estate license. Im in the process of selling this house and just got laid off. IM readyto crack. Any suggestions?

Gain control of the situation immediately because it sounds to me like he is the one in control. He is 19 and considered an adult so lay down the law and let him know that if he abuses you in any way shape or form he is out. Stand firm because this behavior will only worsen because he is suffering no consequences for his actions, you are. There is no way I would put up with something like that from my children especially if they were grown. No way no how.

Your situation will only worsen with time. You are enabling him to be what he is. Time for tough talk is over. Time to take action is now. Either kick him out, and let him stand on his own two feet, or get him arrested, and put in jail.

I was in a somewhat simular situation when I was 19.. I was horrid. I was eventually kicked out and though I was angry and resentful and went through some hard times in the end it worked out well for me. I was forced to re evaluate myself and my life and get my act together. Have you tried getting him into counciling?
