Yes, I did. There was a teacher at my school who later worked for the school administration. I was a very troubled kid. I was battered at home, and got in a lot of fights at school. This teacher never gave up on me. He was kind to me when nobody else was. He was one of the only people that I felt I could trust. When my father killed himself, this teacher was the first person I called. None of my relatives would take me in (I have very few living relatives) and there I was, an orphan, still in school, with nowhere to go. He took me into his home, and eventually legally adopted me. I love my stepfather dearly. He died of cancer, and I still mourn his passing, but feel very lucky to have had such a kind and generous man in my life. He lived long enough to see me graduate as valedictorian of my high school class, and that couldn't have happened without his constant encouragement and support.

no, I went to a pretty poor school system growing up, we got the teachers that had been fired from the other schools, most were pretty uninspiring. College was o.k. but nothing spectacular there either. Been to three trade schools, they where smart at there training, but nothing that changed my views or outlook on life, the best teacher I have had is my own life.

Yes I had a 7Th grade teacher that I was completely taken with, she is by far one of the most interesting people I have ever met.She used to sit on her desk Indian style, and she was just so incredibly real I was fascinated with her outlook and truly amazed that she had my interest, and kept it throughout the whole year.My son who is now 14 had her last year and she spoke very highly of me to him(smile) We just had a great connection, because I didn't have to many teachers fond of me on an academic level,by any means, this was a personal bond,a special connection of two personalities that was and is pretty indescribable.

OMG, yes i did! This teacher was my chorus teacher in high school. He wasn't just a chorus teacher. He was someone that if you respected him, he respected you back. He was always there for me when i had a problem and thankful i had him as a teacher and a friend. I was able to talk to him about anything and actually by writing this made me realize i miss him. He made high school fun, challenging, and exciting. He made me realize that teachers are just like us and if u let them they can be a good friend to turn to. Much love to Mr.T

Mrs Barker, when I was 9. She was so patient and a great teacher. She moved me up a year and gave me confidence. Mrs Horne, she was my English and history teacher when I was 11 through to 14. She was a real dragon if you messed about, but could she teach! She made lessons come alive, and gave me a love of English and history.....EDIT...SOLARIUS...That's a sad story, but I'm so pleased things came good for you. Your new dad sounds like a great man. Sorry about your loss

Yes, he was my high school government teacher. He taught me to love politics. A few years after I graduated he died of cancer. I was lucky enough to have told him while he was living that he changed my life.

My 12th grade English teacher was so caring. She worked with each one of us on whatever level we were working on. She was so in tuned to our needs. I had a problem at home (that I didn't share at school), and one day she came up to me and asked if I had this particular problem. It really blew me away! She also was encouraging me to go on to college and major in journalism, and that's exactly what I wish now that I had done.

My choir director in high school! He was very "cutting edge" and showed us that we could be anyone we wanted to be!!! He was more of a mentor, to a lot of us, than a choir teacher!
