It isn't that hard to keep people on their side. The Chinese built the great wall of China. Should we build the great wall of the United States?

As long as we have crooked politicians who are having their palms greased anything goes.

We do not need a great wall. There is a simple plan which would guarantee success...announce the following:

Effective in 60 days: legal immigration will be made easier, as long as you have no criminal background and we have the right to know where you are.

Effectiving in 90 days:
1. Anyone caught employing illegal aliens will be fined $50,000 for the first offense and $250,000 and 1 year in prison for the second...escalating each offense.
2. 100% of entitlement is cut off from illegal immigrants. The only thing you can get is emergency medical care, and as soon as travel is possible, deportation.
3. Anyone caught in this country illegally will have their right to legally immigrate revoked FOREVER! NO EXCEPTIONS!
4. Announce a change in the entitlement programs in this country for citizens and legal immigrants. No longer will earning $100.00 cost you $500.00 in benefits. Make it for every $3 or $4, you lose $1 in benefits. Entitlement programs today keep people on them because if you earn money, they take away more in entitlement than you earn. It would be a pay cut to try to improve your situation. Reverse it, and many (certainly not all but many) would start working.

It is that simple. Take away the reason for them being here on both sides (illegals and those who employ them) and make being here hurt (never legally immigrate) and they would go back and get in line to come here legally. AND WE REDUCE THE WELFARE ROLLS AT THE SAME TIME!

As for does our govt. care? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Both parties have fought a wall as the Wall of China was not a good thing (like the Berlin Wall) It is a fairly recent problem,
30 years ago illegal immigration was unheard of. Every problem must be identified & then corrected.

And the commies had the Berlin Wall, complete with land mines and machine guns. Do we want a new Berlin Wall? This time on American soil? Ronald Reagan said "Tear this wall down!" He didn't say "move this wall to America."

If somebody wants to keep Mexicans off his property, he's free to put a fence around his own property. But don't fence me in. If I want Mexicans on my property, that's nobody else's business.

The government needs illegal aliens because many of them pay social security taxes without ever collecting benefits. If we could keep out illegal aliens, the social security system would collapse a whole lot sooner.

If we can sent a man to the moon, we can stop illegal immigration, if our government was on the middle class tax payers side and not the deep pocket of the business lobby that wants cheap labor side

They don't care.. All they care about is how to win the next election. The American people have let this issue slide for too long. We need to stand up for what we want and force our government to do what we want.
