1 Cor: 13
Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other peoples sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.

L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore &
Love is all that I can give to you
Love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please don't break it
Love was made for me and you
L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore &
Love is all that I can give to you
Love is the stuff that makes dreams come true
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please don't break it
Love was made for me & you
Love was made for me & you
Love was made for me & you

Well now, it depends upon which type of Love you are talking about! If it is Eros, then it is emotional and possibly sexual! If you are talking about Agape, which is a Greek word that refers to Unconditional Love, without Judgment or anger or hatred. When things are on an emotional level, then things like jealousy, anger, hatred get mixed up in the ball of wax we call love or maybe chemistry between two people. If you can look beyond the faults of others and love them still, then you would be using Unconditional Love. Eros would seem to have more of a quid pro quo situations. If you do this, than I will do that! There has to be some chemistry between people if they are going to begin to love each other. There must be compatibility of intelligence and personality, some things that both people like to do or see such as music, movies. Companionship is another biggie! You have to enjoy each others company! If many of those things are missing, then chances for success are not likely!. Love is also respecting each other and giving space to each other when it is needed! Love is not Co-Dependent, you must first love yourself before you can love someone else .Hope that this helps give you some ideas!

I don't agree with the answerer who defines love as the Greeks did, in 2 forms eros and agape. Different loves feel different and have different complications, but the defining thing about love to me is that it is a transcendent experience -- it feels like it is transcendent of time and material reality.

"Bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh" It's intimacy where there pain becomes your pain and their joy becomes your joy. And it also involves self sacrifice, your willingness to lay down your own interests in support of the person you are worth. As well I would say loyalty and devotion are characteristic of love.

That warm feeling that makes you set aside your personal prejudices for however long and make yourself vulnerable to someone you think will love you. The ability to consider a weakness a strength in someone.
Looking for another to be there for and whom you want to be there for you. That most elusive of things, when it comes, enjoy it, it is a smell in the wind soon gone most of the time carried out of grasp, and but a memory.
