should i change ob gyns or stay with the one i am at? give me your opinion.

I certainly would check out my options. I would see if, they every found you file & also check out your sister's referral & then decide who you feel most comfortable with. You can also ask your friends for referrals as well. Shop around until you find the medical team that you feel more comfortable with, don't leave something like fertility issues to a medical team that is less trained in this specialized field.

I think they'd still be able to help you even if you have fertility problems. I think you should ask them if your file was ever recovered. Where to go for care is really a personal decision. If you feel that the other clinic would serve you better, you might want to switch. You said they are better equipped, and if your sisters like who they are seeing there, it might be worth checking out. You could always switch back if you don't like it after all.

I am surprised that you only met the new doctors because yours was on vacation. My doctors office has more than one OB and I had to see each of them for my pregnancies because when it comes time to deliver, you get whom ever is on call to the hospital that day or night. So "your" doctor, might have office hours when you go into labor, and not be at the hospital. I happened to get my own doctor for my first, because he was on call, but it was the luck of the draw. Ask your doctors office what happens as far as what doctor is at the hospital just so you know. If you can actually pick, go ahead and change, they all see your same chart so they all knwo what is going on with you.

My suggestion is to analize how you feel about the care they give you. The people are really what makes the experience. If they are a great group of people they can always refer you out for special treatment. If you are concerned about what they can and cannot do for you if you have complications with conception ask them. Most places are sad when a good patient leaves but are understanding and pretty nice when the patient talks to them. You may actually find that they have to equipment and services.

Good luck and go with your feelings

I would have found a new one when they lost my file. If they aren't responsible enough to know where your file went to, that would put a lot of doubts in my head. Find a new doc.

most def they show that they are irresposible for one and if you have been going there for a while on the same issue their is nothing wrong to transfering your medical records over to a new clinic.

Never stay with a care provider if you don't feel comfortable with them. Change.
