I'm glad you went to the doctor. The only things that come to my mind would possibly be hypothyroid.

stress, lack of sleep...also portion control, healthy food can make u gain weight if used in abundance...are you working out? could it be muscle or do you physically look bigger? such rapid weight gain sounds like it could be water weight too, if ure not drinking enough, ur body will tend to store it, making you bloated. this coupled with stress, lack of sleep and or lack of exercise could make u gain weight... i hope its nothing more serious. i would try a mild diuretic like green tea. Also increase your water intake, the more you drink the less is stored. Add some cardio to the mix if u werent working out b4.

overeating, food intolerances, hypothyroid, stress, improper digestion..
have you been on antibiotics lately? those can destroy good bacteria in your tum and lead to improper digestion of foods and subsequent weight gain/nutritional deficiency.
id eliminate all processed foods for now, eat only natural whole foods, up water, de-stress, and start on high-quality probiotic drinks like Bio-K+ (or something of similar quality from a health food store)

A slow thyroid (hypothyroidism) can make you gain weiht like that. Get your TSH, T3 and T4 levels.

Different reason for weight gain could be hypothyroid, fluid retention (diabetes), menopause, stress, medication, stopping smoking, etc. Could you be pregnant?

Did you recently start birth control? That can cause dramatic weight gain.
Have them check for PCOS. THat can cause rapid weight gain.
What about your thyroid, that can do it too.
