Yes. Take any suicide threat seriously. Some have threatened suicide 30 or more times and then ended their lives on the 31st attempt. It's very difficult to stay up all night time after time to prevent a possible suicide but if that is necessary to save their life then you have to let them put you through that and imagine how much more they themselves must be going through when they are alone. Yes, I have and will again. And so should you. Whatever it takes. Do it. The best thing you can do is find a good psychiatrist that they trust because they need help. They are someones child no matter how old they are. Help save their life and then find someone who can take them further. They need new skills for living and only a good doctor can help them learn to use them.

Hell yes. What is a few hours of your time and sleep to someone's life. I have done this for a friend. She had been talking about it at school and said something about how she wanted to kill herself and I didn't really think anything of it until later and I immediately called her cause she had been really depressed this one day and we ended up talking till 6 in the morning the next day. I'm really good friends with her still and she told me a few weeks ago that, that night she was going to kill herself but when i called she atleast wanted to say she wasn't going to be there in gym tomorrow haha. we are gym buddies. so gym kind of saved her life lol but I would definitely do it again.

Yes, but only if I also sought professional help for the person. I lost a relative to suicide. Family tried helping but I now realise ultimately he needed professional help. There are mental health crisis teams available 24/7, hospitals, etc...
Trying to help someone who has major depression can be difficult. Friendship and family support is extremely important, but you must seek professional advice. If they wont seek help you can call for help on their behalf, especially if they are suicidal.

I would stay up as long as it took to save someone from suicide, especially if they were a close friend of mine. I wouldn't want anything to happen to them and I'd do anything humanly possible to save their lives.

I would stay up all night to help someone understand something or feel better about something... Someone who announces suicide tends to want to find any other solution, or possibly just wants to talk.

Who is it and am I aware of the danger?
If I know about it, I will not walk away.
At least, not until I get the right kind of help for that person.
If I can get them somewhere, and I dont know them that well, then that's my first choice.
But if care about the person, I'll spend all night waiting for them to tire out. THEN call the right kind of help.
I can't fix them in one night, you know, but I can hold them off!

No,because the people I knew, who committed suicide just did it and did not announce it.
Once a friend announced when he was young that he was going to do himself in .He lived to be 84years old,he begged for pills, but the nurses did not allow anything to make him go faster.
Some times we have to sit out our time,so make the best of it.
