i then get kicked off the internet. the only way to get back on is when i go to "network connections" - disable it, then enable it. then i get the proper 192.xxx.xxx no. and then get re-connected to the internet. sometimes i have to do this several times a day. my computer is about 10 yrs. old. it is connected with a linksys adapter - (router is downstairs in my tenant's apt. ) any suggestions ?? should i just get a new computer ? i have had someone come over a few times and it's still not working properly. thanks !

From your IP, you are using a router, and because its downstairs, I assumed that its wireless, I suspect you are losing wireless signal.
