In a nutshell...
Osama knew a guy, who knew a guy, who was friends with a guy, who was related to a guy, who knew a guy, who married a woman that was related to a guy, that lived down the street from a guy, who heard a guy say Hussien wanted to sell Osama WMD's but one of those guys lied.

There is no relationship between Iraq, Osama, & 911... except that created by the mass media & political establishment.
Oh yes, and both Mr. Hussein & Mr. bin Laden were both ex-clients on the US government payroll.
As others have said, 911 was fabricated by elements within the US government to create the "War on Terror", which was sold very successfully to the public to justify a long-term war & occupation in the Middle East.
Imagine... would the vast majority of Americans have supported invasions of Afghanistan & Iraq if 911 had NOT happened???
(This works better than just planting WMDs in Iraq, because once those WMDs are found & Iraq is stabilized, we have no justification to stay in the Middle East.)
And why the Middle East? Because it is home to the largest, last remaining cheap oil reserves.
911 is partly because of Peak Oil.

The is no relation ship between Osama and the war in the in Iraq.
Osama did not plan, mastermind, or conduct 9/11. Watch this video explaining that it was US goverment that conducted it: (video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7866929448192753501). Watch it.
The US goverment wanted to control over Iraq so they try to justfy that they have WMD's, which later proved be false shortly
Briefly before the war started, Hans Blix, the UN weapons inspector and his team were allowed into Iraq to search for WMD's this happened in 2002-2003. Nothing was found, and Blix said not to got to war.
The majority of the UN did not want to go to war with Iraq. George Bush did.

till at last now the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 there grew to alter into dazzling right into a sequence observed as Ansar al-Islam fi Kurdistan (Supporters of Islam in Kurdistan) in Kurdish controlled Northern Iraq(U.S. no-fly zone) that arrived in September 2001 from Afghanistan. on an identical time as there is a few advice that there have been links between this team and al Qaeda (after the invasion formal kin individuals grew between the two), there is not any advice linking this team with Saddam Hussein's Iraq government. Ofcourse AFTER the U.S. occupation "al Qaeda in Iraq" formed and it even assaults Sunnis.

Before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 there was a group called Ansar al-Islam fi Kurdistan (Supporters of Islam in Kurdistan) in Kurdish controlled Northern Iraq(U.S. no-fly zone) that arrived in September 2001 from Afghanistan. While there is some evidence that there were links between this group and al Qaeda (after the invasion formal relations grew between the two), there is no evidence linking this group with Saddam Hussein's Iraq Government.
Ofcourse AFTER the U.S. Occupation "al Qaeda in Iraq" formed and it even attacks Sunnis.

The government NEVER claimed that. Your professor is extremely ignorant.
We were sucker punched on 9/11. After that, we decided to go after threats before we were actually attacked. Iraq was at the top of the list.
PS THIS is why the Congress said we were going to war in Iraq:

Ask your professor to back up his or her statement with facts, quotes. He or she will not be able to.

Nothing at all. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 as all the people involved were Saudi's.
This war in Iraq is all Bush's pet project, based on lies.
