1 of my best fnds(we have taken vacations 2gether)lives app 1 1/2 hr away from me.she met a man abt a yr ago & they live 2gether now & have a baby.he is mean 2 her daughter from a previous marriage(whose dad died in iraq last year)& he doesnt work & my friend foots the bill for everything because she has money from the settlement from the military.anyway i go see her when i can.i am a student & work a min wage job & cant afford gas 2 go see her as much as i would like.besides her new man is a smarta** & he makes smart remarks 2 me & she just laughs & makes excuses 4 him.
anyway-i pulled out of my driveway this morning & i saw a truck like my friends.i sent her a txt message & asked if she was n my town & an hr later she sent back that she was & asked if i saw her.i am very offended she was so close 2 my house and didnt take the time 2 stop or even call.why should she expect me 2 be the 1 2 always c her when she is rite here & doesnt take the effort.i had surgery last week 2!

Sarafinn have you tried talking with your friend about the way this man treats her daughter and if so what does she say or does she make exuses for that Iam sorry your friend was in your town and didnt even stop to see how you were that was cold . I would have even stopped to see how you were knowing you just went thru surgery.If you still care for your friend then my advice would be call her up and try to have a conversation with her without the boyfriend around.Could it be him keeping her from you you said he made remarks while you were there if you still care for your friend then dont let this man come between your friendship

It's not her, it's him.
He is not good for her, and she knows it, but is ashamed to have YOU know it too. So she will kill all her old relationships for him to make life easier. Don't let her do it. One day he will be mean to her, and she will have no one.
He picks on you, because he needs to get rid of people in her life that have influence over her. He needs to be the only one,
Whatever happens. Don't let him chase you away. When she has noone left to talk to, then he can be his true self. Who would she turn to? Who would give her a reality check>
It's tough and maybe you will get tired of her silly support of him, but she isn't seeing clearly right now.
Her pain at losing her man was eased a little by him being around, and he walked right into a cushy situation.
She will see it in the end, probably when money runs out and he gets mad at her.
She will need you.
Can you do it?

Well if she doesn't take the time to come see you if you guys are supposedly best friends her friendship with you probably fell apart and doesn't real care for you're friendship.You shouldn't be wasting your time,money,gas on someone who doesn't care to spend time with you.The whole new man thing well...he just needs to grow up and learn how to be a real man but that takes time and it might not happen but that depends on him.

Maybe you are a better friend to her than she to you. Cut ties for a while and see what happens. If you want to know the truth I think you sound needy. Maybe you haven't picked up on her subtle hints. Maybe your friend feels inferior to you since you are single and she is tied down with a baby? Maybe you all just don't have anything in common any more? I wish I knew you better but I don't. Good luck

tell her to pi*s off if she wants to act like that then tell her to get lost.
If she was any kind of friend she would stick up for you at least once dont ya think ?
People are dogs most have no respect and no morals as soon as they find something else they treat ya like your no one even after all the crap you have done for em.
Leave her and let her live in her own sh*t

it sounds like a one sided friendship and/or her boyfriend is controlling/abusing her. try to get her away for lunch or something and talk to her, if her boyfriend doesn't let her go... that is a red flag. she may be afraid to make contact with you b/c of the verbal abuse that is occuring in her home.
