I was in the dugout on the steps while the National Anthem was playing at a Major League baseball game.

Second best: I ran into a singer I was on my way to see in the parking lot of a hotel. We talked for a minute and he left. My friend and I left a note with a song request on the car window and he sang it during the show and said it was for us. Everyone was screaming (there were a LOT of people there) when he said our names and we thought it was weird that people were applauding our names because he hadn't even started singing yet.

I am old so there are lots of things. Not including the normal things like the birth of kids and grand kids one stands out, though. I took my kids to a mobile electronics store near Detroit to stand in line to get Steve Yzerman's autograph. He was a star for the Detroit Red Wings at the time. We got to shake his hand and get his autograph, There were two younger girls with Wings jerseys on standing behind him the whole time,. We figured they were daughters of employees of the store. I took photos of Steve (even though i wasn't supposed to but I didn't know it) and when I got them back there was a good one of him with the two girls behind him. I got copies made and sent several to the store saying I thought the girls might like copies and a week or so later I got an envelope from the store. They were the OWNER'S daughters and he sent me SIX tickets to a Red Wings game. Now, to me THAT was COOL!
