This whole thing about the Yankees team salary is something that the media has used to portray them as the bad guys only when they win.

George has always been a big spender dating all the way back to when he gave Reggie Jackson his big contract. This is nothing new.

I don't recall the media giving the Yankees a hard time when they spent money in the 80's and weren't that successful.

Let's say hypothetically the Yankees drop their payroll to 70,000,000 million. Are the Red Sox with their 143,123,714
million dollar pay roll the new most hated team because they now have the highest pay roll?

Don't let this pay roll thing phase you one bit.

I understand the hurt person part, but what you must understand is that people have been waiting for a long time to catch the Yankees in the bottom of the pit. All the Yankee fans bash everyone else whenever they are winning and ahead.(When I say all I don't necessarily mean ALL, i mean 99% of em) We will savor this moment. The only problem is that eventually the Yankees will fight their way up again.

I hate the Yankees, but I agree with you. It's way too early to count anyone out. On May 6, 2005, the Yankees were 7 games under .500. See the link below. I am not a Yankee fan, just trying to call them like I see them. Of course, if the Yankees were to lose out the rest of the season, I'd love it.

Probably because people are going to hate, regardless! Its just what they do. In the words of Kat Williams "You need haters!" They only insure that everyone knows who the Yankees are. And there will be lame excuses, even if the payroll thing wasnt a factor. I wonder why...oh yea its the 26 rings!

Let 'em hate, I'm still gonna love the bombers! Not that the occasional debate with a delusional fan isn't fun.

wow...you are very good at spelling and grammar. You are a very good representation of how dumb yankees fans are. I applaud you for making my point.
It's not your spelling really that is annoying, it's your lack of punctuation, if you can understand what that means. And I must add, the Yankees are nine games behind the Sox, so eat that.

OH I love my NY Yankees, but watching them lose is just killing me. The loses are ok actually, but if they don't get up there in first place then they wont be in the playoffs or world series. That is what kills me. I dont get to watch them longer. I go crazy when they dont win at the end cause I miss watching them so much. GO YANKEES !!!!!!!!!!!!
