There's been an ad for it on the question index page & your profile page! It takes little effort to make a difference! I replaced all my lightbulbs w/ the energy saving ones & my electric bill went down $30 a month!!!! No kidding!

Last year we went carbon negative. A good friend has some land in Africa and last year we got the local communities involved and planted 50,000 trees. We provided the trees and the villages provided much of the labour. They look after the trees and in return they use the deadwood for their fires and can harvest the fruit (when they've grown). Overall they should sequester 150,000 tons of carbon dioxide - about the same that 7,500 people would produce in a year.
This year we're going back to Africa and will be installing stubble burning stoves in three hospitals (my friend is a doctor and used to work at the hopsitals). The stoves burn leaves, twigs, straw, hay, stubble and other waste material. They're cheaper and more efficient than conventional stoves (electricity is hit and miss, gas is expensive) and each one will save over 1,000 tons of CO2 emissions a year.
Those are the big things - I'm doing the little things as well on a day to day basis.

I'm replacing my incandescent bulbs with the new fluorescent ones as they burn out. I use my cruise control to conserve fuel, and my wife only cranks her beast when she's got 3 places to go, or it's an emergency. I've found that altering how I drive when I drive, I can increase my mpg by 3, without doing anything else. I drive the speed limit, and don't idle in drive-thrus. Every other week or so, I walk along the road in front of my house and pick up trash.
It's not much, but it's something.

Our 'light & power' company did a promotion on the lightbulbs two years ago, and we replaced all the ones in our house.

That's so awsome! we have solor powered hot water heaters and we turn off any light we're not using,
