I agree "The Stand" is a great story but my current favorite (which I happen to be reading again now) is "David Copperfield" by Charles Dickens.

"ERIC JEROME DICKEY"....his books are always a page turner!
I've been reading him for years and am addicted...
Start with Cheaters and move on to his newest ones...
One of his books will instantly turn a dull weekend or afternoon into something more eventful.
