It has to be the 1969 Mets. Their whole season was a fairy tale. They were a team that was big on personality but deemed to be a bit short on talent, especially their position players. The Mets, who came into existence in 1962, had never won more than 73 games. They had never even been close to a .500 team, and they had lost more than 100 games in 5 of their 7 seasons.
It was largely through great pitching and smoke and mirrors that they won 100 games. They had only one position player who hit higher than .280 and only one who had more than 15 HRs. Only one of their starting infielders hit higher than .250. But they stormed back from 9-1/2 games down in August to overtake the Cubs and win the National League pennant.
Contrast that with the Orioles, who won 109 games and featured future Hall of Famers Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson, and Jim Palmer, plus slugger Boog Powell. The Orioles were heavily favored to win.
There were three very exciting games in the series. Game 2 was a taut thriller, which the Mets won 2-1 by scoring the winning run in the top of the 9th, stringing together three singles after two were out. They won game 4 2-1 in 10 innings after the Orioles tied the game in the top of the 9th. An error by Orioles pitcher Pete Richert on a bunt allowed the winning run to score. In game 5, the Orioles scored three runs early, only to watch the Mets storm back with runs in the 6th, 7th, and 8th innings. Ron Swoboda would forever etch his name into the hearts of New Yorkers by hitting a tiebreaking double in the bottom of the 8th.
That series had it all--heroic underdogs, great pitching, clutch hitting, and a frenzied atmosphere.

A lot of them were very good. The 1960's World Series was a classic where David beat Goliath, went seven games where the Yankees won three routs, and the Pirates won four very close games including the seventh. The 1962 WS ended with Bill Richardson catching a line drive off the bat of the Giants' Willie McCovery which would have won them the series if hit a few inches closer. The 1965 WS had the dramtic seventh game win of Sandy Koufax on two days rest after he and Drysdale lost games one and two against the Twins. The 1968 Series had the Tigers beat a Cardinals team with a slew of great players and defending their title. I am a Mets fan, and as great a story as their 1969 win was, the series was not really that close. I would go with 1960 for the disparity between the teams and the dramatic ending.

Mets vs Orioles 1969
The Yankees and Pirates in 1960 had the greatest moment to end the World Series om Mazeroski's homer and in a 7th game.

Depends on where one lives.
Either one of
1960 -- Pirates take down the mighty Yankees in heartbreaking fashion; or
1967 -- the Red Sox' Impossible Dream takes it all the way to Game 7; or
1969 -- the Amazin's bump off the superior-on-paper Orioles in a mere five games.
For sheer amount of words written about (or wasted on), I think 1960 would win, simply because the Yankees were involved. But it'd be close.

A lot of good answers. The '69 WS has to stand out. The Mets had been the laughingstock of baseball ever since they came into existence in '62. Then, to win the Series against the mighty Orioles in '69? Unthinkable! But it happened.

I will say the '69 Mets-Orioles series. The "Miracle Mets" came out of nowhere to win the pennant, and are one of baseball's more memorable teams. Their series win over a powerful Orioles squad is one of the bigger upsets in World Series history.

different than those already pronounced, the lead guitar participant interior the band Sly and the kinfolk Stone grew to develop right into a Witness and left Sly. i might desire to be incorrect right here yet i think of he's the single that studied with Prince. Prince remains a Witness, only satisfying his settlement. If he does pass away the reality, it truly is Jehovah God's judgment as that's with each and every individual who has ever been born. no longer our call.
