Some people think that there was but most likely its an error in data and if there were it wasn't significant. However, the warm global temperatures today are nothing compared to those in the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods and even further back in the Cambrian and Precambrian. The ice caps were melted during these times. The Earth has gone through very large periods of cyclic warming and cooling, which is why the Earth has also had large Ice Ages.

they wernt you fool. I dont know how you came to this conclusion but it is hopelessly wrong. feel free to add details to rebuddle.

There was one instance where a volcano blew up coverng the earth and warming it up. But it was no where near as hot as it is today.
