I find myself having "internal dialogs" all the time. And sometimes I talk to myslef outloud, like if there were two persons within me. Like I ask something and then answer to myslef, or just remind myself of stuff, or just anything. I don't think I'm crazy or anything, I actually enjoy talking to myslef, and it's not like I dont have any friends. But most people say it is weird and in society it seems like it is not quite normal.
So what do you think? do you ever talk to yourself? outloud?

Note: of course I don't do it in public, I don't want people to think I'm crazy and if I'm with a person I'm usually talking to that person, not to myslef. lol

Self talk is great, especially when it is adaptive and helps you.

I think we all have internal dialog and in a strong internal person and voice is probably a sign on intelligence and creativity as this can be a guiding force for decision making, reassurance, groundedness, problem solving, intuition and creative thinking.

You have friends, so you get external stimulation, so don't worry about normal or weird.

I talk to myself and this has developed mindfulness. I fear the person who does not have an internal dialog as they can be easily manipulated, swayed or controlled as they have a harder time thinking for themselves and can let others do that for them.

Hello Green Eyes!

I don't think there is anything weird about talking to yourself. You seem to be more normal to me than some of the ridiculous so called societal norms. Look at our society, do we really want to let it dictate to us if we are normal or not? I know I don't. I love being different from the status quo and if talking to myself makes me crazy, then bring it on!

Don't worry about what others say about you talking to yourself. Many people do it and don't even realize they are doing it. I think it is pretty human to open up your mouth and let your thoughts come out, and it can be very helpful when you get my age, though I have been doing it for years.

Take care of you....

I think that every person on the planet has talked to them selves at some point. They may not do it regularly, but I think most might. It help to work out problems, you can talk them out and debate with yourself. If people say they dont they are either tell a fib, or they are wierd. I talk to myself, as does everyone I just asked. That is why the concept of the little conciences on your shoulder(the devil and the angel) were invented.

NO! It's not weird. I do it all the time, even when people are around. My friends call it OCS--only child syndrome. lol. I usually have long debates with myself, and what seems like ten other people. But that's how my mind works, and when I say the stuff out loud, it's just more coherent and logical.

It's completely normal. I don't know how, this coming from someone that does the same thing, will help convince you. lol

Awkward silences ensue once you're frightened and distracted by way of how the verbal replace is going, how the different guy or woman is reacting, what to speak approximately next, and so on. regrettably, in simple terms like impotence, questioning approximately a clumsy silence is a self-friendly prophecy. in simple terms positioned, you would be able to desire to be extra effective in your self. If a definite verbal replace is going nowhere, or in case you are able to tell that your significant different is dropping pastime, there is not any harm in acknowledging that (in a humorous way, don't be self-pitying). If no person possibilities up the practice, in simple terms permit your strategies wander- think of approximately some thing at the instant happening on your existence, a prior verbal replace, or a query you wish responded. Then blurt it out. you are able to hardly pass incorrect by way of asking somebody a query. human beings like to speak approximately themselves, and would have lots to speak approximately. in case you do no longer understand what to ask, then you definately do no longer understand adequate approximately that guy or woman- ask something! the significant project is to attempt to concentration your strategies on the verbal replace, no longer with regard to the verbal replace. If a silence happens, in simple terms settle for it. being waiting to savour a silence is between the keys to a deep relationship, and a verbal replace will start up in its own time.

Well - I have taken long drives by myself where I have had amazing conversations with myself - it clears my head - it allows me to speak up something I am thinking about etc.
My boss gets a kick out of it - when I tell him: I was driving to such and such and talk the entire trip!
He thinks I'm kookoo.
So I do talk to myself outloud only when driving.

I always talk to myself, sometimes out loud when alone - it just shows that you have a creative person inside you and it helps you in different ways, these internal dialogues help you sort stuff in your head before blurting it out and helps in making better decisions - when i hear it voiced out - it just helps me think better -
there is another side to it - it would be wierd if you are doing it when you are surrounded by people ...
otherwise its just you being as human as anyone can be.

The younger you are, the weirder you think it is. The older you get, the more you realize that all of us do it at various times. We know we're okay, because we don't do it in public, meaning we are self conscious. Mentally ill people do it where ever they are struck by the impulse to do it. We're all okay.

No, it's not weird to talk to yourself. It's just your way of disseminating your thoughts. What would be a problem is if you were talking to someone who wasn't you that doesn't exist. That kind of talking to yourself isn't healthy. If people around you think it's weird, they'll just have to deal with it or find someone else to hang with.
