General Patton knew of the danger the Soviets posed and wanted to us the Allied military to push the Soviets back to Russia. But he died in a car accident. The relationship between FDR and Stalin was much different between Truman and Stalin. Stalin loved FDR because FDR was the only one who could really entertain him and he loved FDR's personality. When Truman came to power, Stalin didn't respect Truman as much causing friction in negotiations after World War II. I believe that the cold war would've still occurred, but it probably wouldn't have been as bad as it were if FDR was still alive.
