Stephen Hawking would be a cool report. He is considered one of the smartest men alive now and he is considered an expert on the origins of the universe. The other real cool aspect about him is that he is a quadraplegic and is wheelchair bound. He is also about to take a zero-gravity flight to see what it would feel like to be weightless. His voice is even featured on a Pink Floyd song which is pretty cool in itself.

Click on the link below for a list of famous mathematicians. Find someone who interests YOU. It will be a lot easier to write a paper on something you're even remotely interested in, and when you're talking about famous mathematicians, that's kinda tough.

For example, if you think number theory, acoustics, and elasticity are somewhat interesting, I'd go with Sophie Germain. If you like something more concrete, like geometry, go with someone like Isaac Barrow.

Use the list and choose which one will work best for you.

Type "mathematician biography index" into your search engine. You will be able to search by date or name alphabetically. Click on a few until you find someone who sounds interesting. Once you select a name, you can use the usual resources for information for your report.
