For reasons of greed and power, it is always easier to promote hatred, intolerance and aggression. That kind of appeal to the baser nature of human instincts gains adherents more quickly than the appeals to the better instincts. Leaders can more easily take their nations to war by fanning the flames of anger, fear and hatred than they can convince their own people to engage in peaceful, diplomatic processes. Until decent and powerful leaders can command the respect of the majority of people and convince them to engage in peaceful and nonviolent means most people will gravitate to violence and aggression. The change has to come from within and countries have to be willing to choose and respect sensible leaders who are sincerely interested in peace. It is easier said than done.

There is, it's called Jihad. You may not know this, but the Ummah, generally translated as 'the Muslim World,' is peaceful union of all good people in the world (everyone else constitute the evil 'Kufar'). There is an active campaign to bring everyone into that vision of peaceful coexistance.
There's another such movement that's lost popularity in recent years called Communism. Under this ideaology, all the good people of the world - called the prolitariate, or 'workers' - would unite and coexist peacefully.
There's yet another, called 'globalization,' in which all the people of the world, good or otherwise, would coexist in a free-trade/open-borders paradise of enlightened self-interest.
And that's not all of them, either. Only problem is, the adherents of these various quasi-utopian movements need to kill or convert all thier rivals before the united/peacful world can be achieved.

First of all there have been more wars started by " good people than anybody else "..The morally just religions have killed uncounted numbers..If you want the peoples of the world to co-exist together, try spreading some respect and tolerance around for other belief systems, moral codes and personal values..Many are not that different in the core values from what may be yours or mine and the differences are not that crucial.. There have always been two unofficial campaigns going on..One of tolerance and one of intolerance...Guess which one is the easiest to spread??

What is your definition of "good people"? Is it just people who think like you, and who would agree with you on your particular views? If so, then it would not be that hard for them to all live together in peace. But, it would be a small group. In fact no two people are going to agree on everything, on every single issue.
Difference of opinion is what separates us. What you may consider as "good", another may view as not so good. what you may perceive as evil, may be perceived by some as good. That does not necessarily mean that one is right and one is wrong, it's not that simple. But, on the other hand, our difference of opinion is what keeps the world turning.
If everyone thought alike, looked alike, dressed alike, had the same thoughts on religion, and politics, this would be a boring world. But we are all different.
There is a large portion of the world who sees war as a necessity; they wouldn't abolish it even if they could. There are those who see war as an evil that must be stopped at all costs; and there are those who see it as a necessary evil, a terrible thing and waste of life, but think it is our only means of survival.
The truth is that good and evil is not so easily defined. If we all truly search our souls, we will find that both exists in us. They will clash at times within ourselves, so much more will they clash between individuals.
EDIT: Nancy, I was not trying to act like a smarta**. I was trying to make a point. Your question is a good one, and deserving of an answer. But in your response, you proved my point exactly; perceptions vary from person to person. What I percieved as being a legitimate answer, you percieved as a "smarta**" one.
Yes, everyone should have a natural feeling for right and wrong. The problem is the perception of what is right and what is wrong. The Nazis in WWII thought that they were right, so did the Huns. Slaveowners in this country 150 years ago thought they were right. Most everyone believes that they are a good person, you or I may not see them as such but then they also may not see us as good either.
I'm truly sorry if I offended you with my answer, but I honesty thought I was giving a legitimate answer to a legitimate question. It was not my intention to offend you.

War is part of human nature, there has always been murder, greed, jealousy, and power hungry idiots like GB. Untill the common people of the world get together and evict the Kings, dictators, wild crazi presidents, emperors etc.... of the world than we will never have peace.

They can't!
Corrupt human nature does not allow for uptopic perfection; man gave up that ability when he took a bite of the apple in the Garden of Eden!
BE CAREFUL! One world, in coexistence will soon be FALSELY provided by the antichrist.
Man is incapable of achieving perfection.

Money rules the world. Who can gain the most in land, power, resources, money, etc. You can't be better then the next guy if you are co-existing peacefully and equally with him.

I don't think it can...some people like to argue...they are adrenaline junkies...it has nothing to do with being good or bad...it's a high they get from anonymous confrontation...and that's just here in yahoo...imagine trying to bring a world together...There will always be this type of person to muck things up...

We can't, and it really isn't worth trying. Violence is an ingrained part of who we are; 1/4 of the Id is the instinct to fight. Humanity can't divorce itself from that anymore than we can completely suppress our sexuality; it wouldn't be emotionally healthy.
