Coming from a die hard Chiefs fan this is hard to say, but yes it will be a bad year for them. Although they do have one of the best runningbacks in the NFL and their defense has been improving over the past few years, the Chiefs are going to struggle for one reason only: the offensive line is going to be hurting.

The Chiefs run of good season has been lead by their good offenses, and in particular because of their O-line. The retirement of LT Willie Roaf before last season, proved to really hurt the Chiefs last year. The lack of pass protection showed for the passing game, and Larry Johnson had to work extra hard for every yard he gained. Many times, they had to leave Tony Gonzalez in on passing downs to help block, so the QB didn't get creamed.

The O-Line only gets worse with the retirement of perrenial pro-bowler RG Will Shields. This, along with the retirement/departure of John Welburne and Kyle Turley make the Chiefs O-line very young this year. Put this all together with a new QB in Damon Huard and a still very old team, and 2007 will prove to be a tough year in Chiefs land.

I don't think its going to be a horrible season, but yes it will be a down year. I think 9-7 is about the best to expect out of the Chiefs this year (won't get into the playoffs with a 9-7 record this year), but I'm betting on an 8-8 season. The linebacking corps has definitly improved with Napoleon Harris and Donnie Edwards. Who knows if any of the new DT talent they have will be able to stop the run. We are incredibly vulnerable at the CB spot. Law and Surtain are good CBs, but if they get hurt there is nobody worth the paper their contract is written on to fill the void. On offense, I don't even want to talk about the o-line. Its a disaster. We'll see if Bowe can improve the recievers, Larry Johnson is the man, and Huard won't make mistakes that will lose the game. He won't carry the team on his shoulders and make that big play to get the win either. All in all, KC really hasn't improved while every other team in the division has. Like I said 9-7 at best, no playoffs.

The defense has improved a lot, but their offense hasn't. They've lost a lot of talent on the offensive line which at one time was their strongest spot. Tony Gonzolez is getting old. Their wide receivers are average. Larry Johnson is amazing but at some point they are going to wear him into the ground. A man can only take so much physical abuse before his body falls apart. Do they even have a qb? With the Chargers and Broncos in the same division and a slim chance the Oakland Raiders might actually be decent, the Chiefs have no shot at a winning season or the playoffs this year.

I anticipate the Chiefs 2d interior the AFC west. They basically return a playoff team from final 12 months, with the exceptions of a few advancements. They upgraded at Left address, They upgraded at Linebacker and upgraded at D-line. they have a sparkling OG yet he's amazingly resembling final years. the only place they'd have downgraded at is QB, yet green became into on no account an identical after the cheap shot he took from the Bengals. i think of all the communities interior the branch are worse this 12 months different than for the Raiders, the Raiders nonetheless have an prolonged thank you to pass to be aggressive. San Diego is stable yet have a sparkling coach which would be worry. Denver is going to omit Plummer alot, they heavily downgraded at QB. So we basically return the six seed interior the AFC it is approximately the place we are able to be. 9-7 or 8-8 many communities would be worse then that.

I think the Chiefs could really struggle this year. The Chargers are strong again and the Broncos are making moves to improve. The Chiefs don't even know who will be starting the season at QB (I think it will be Huard.) LJ took way to many hits last year. The history for RB's the year after taking that many carries isn't good. They are the oldest team in the league and they didn't make many moves to upgrade their secondary, which is probably the oldest in the league. The one thing that might save them from a horrible year is they still play their home games in the hardest stadium for opposing teams in the NFL. But no playoffs this year.

Herm Edwards is the coach and Carl Peterson is the general manager. These facts, along with the bad offensive line, mediocre defense, no wide receivers and no QB add up to 6-10, at best.

Herm Edwards is a head of schedule in tearing down the Chiefs.
