I can answer for 2 people (3 years ago and today) ...

I would prefer to be alone in the middle of a forest regathering my thoughts ... ALONE where there is peace, quiet, and solitude.

My wife is one of those clingy people that used to (as I affectionately call it) "LEECH" onto the company of others and go out and have a good time -- for me that is the WRONG reasons because she would go out and get smashed, and come home smelling like she took a liquor bath (wouldn't been to much of a problem if we didn't have a 6-9 month old at the time.

Now I still would much rather be alone to gather my thoughts, but my wife and I prefer to be ALONE TOGETHER enjoying each other's company, than be with a group for the wrong reasons.

I think it all depends on what you mean by "right" and "wrong" reasons, and since everyone's circumstances are different it's hard to give good advice. Some people will put up with a lifetime of abuse because they don't want to be alone; others are single their whole life because the can't find the perfect partner - and in each situation you will find both people that are satisfied and others who are not.

What's important is to think hard and decide what you want, and then not be afraid to live your life the way that you think is right - whether that means making some major changes, or just changing the way you think. Oh, and whatever you do you, don't look back and regret it: decisions are often much easier in hindsight!

Alone for the right reasons. I've been with someone for the wrong reasons, and it's not a good place to be.

I am alone for the right reasons now. It was much better than being married to someone for all the wrong ones.

You have just described the biggest reason for my failed marriage. I choose to be alone. The right guy came along after a bunch of toads came through and over 5 years passed by.
